The Best Farmers Markets in Denver and Boulder 2021

Denver and Boulder Farmers Market Etiquette

Spring has arrived and summer is just around the corner which means it's time to visit the best farmers markets in Denver, Boulder and beyond. This is your opportunity to continue to support local farmers, artisans and makers who have certainly struggled throughout the pandemic. They need our support now more than ever!

Before we get to our list of Boulder and Denver farmers markets 2021, let's cover a few tips for your health and safety, as well as the vendors and other market patrons you'll encounter.

  • It goes without saying that you should not attend if you have any symptoms of COVID-19.
  • Before going to a farmers market near you, visit the websites we've included to read up on their policies for attending safely. They may require reservations or not allow reusable bags. And they may offer order ahead with curbside pickup which is quite convenient.
  • Put together a shopping list. While you'll be out in the fresh air with less risk, it's not the time to meander or linger. Some markets may have time windows and capacity limits, so it's best to work from a list and keep things moving along.
  • When heading out, make sure you have your mask and hand sanitizer with you. Many markets will have sanitizer stations available, but it's better to come prepared.
  • While shopping, be aware of your surroundings and practice social distancing. Try to limit how much you handle produce and perhaps opt for pre-packaged items if available.
  • Leave your pet at home, unless they're a service animal. While some markets do allow them right now, it will just be easier for you to find what you need and make your way through.
  • Use your hand sanitizer to disinfect your hands frequently, especially after handling any produce or coming in contact with other high-touch surfaces.
  • Once you get home, dispose of non-reusable bags and wash your produce thoroughly.
