Now, before heading out to one of these tried and true, locally owned cafes, let's go over your options. While a plain cup of drip coffee is certainly a praise-worthy, classic beverage, there are all kinds of options to explore.
- Latte – One shot of espresso with steamed milk, topped with foam. Can be customized with flavored syrups.
- Cappuccino – Espresso shot with more foam than steamed milk, plus a dusting of cocoa powder or cinnamon.
- Americano – Espresso is diluted in hot water, giving you a flavor somewhat similar to drip coffee.
- Cortado – Nearly equal parts espresso and steamed milk with little to no foam. Smaller in size than a latte.
- Espresso / Doppio – One shot or a double shot of straight espresso, hold the bells and whistles.
- Mocha – Similar to a latte, this treat includes the addition of sweet chocolate sauce and maybe whipped cream.
- Cold Brew – Grounds steeped in water for 6-36 hours then diluted with water or cold milk and served over ice.
- Flat White – Double espresso shots with lightly frothed, steamed milk and no foam.

Denver's only 100% female-owned coffee roaster, Copper Door serves some of the best coffee around.
